YSL Belle de Jour Clutch Bag Review

Before it became known as Saint Laurent, YSL used to make a lovely little clutch bag called the "Belle de Jour". It has now, sadly, been discontinued, but it's a designer bag that I still see people talking about and purchasing on the pre-loved market.

The Belle de Jour has a simple and classic flap design, is made from leather and is typically available in single block colours. On the front of the clutch you will find the YSL logo stitched into the leather in a complementary neutral colour, otherwise the bag is left plain and unembellished. The interior of the bag is lined in a satin material, and the bag is secured with a single magnetic popper.

In terms of size, the Belle de Jour (height 27cm, width 17cm) is a very practical clutch bag and can fit much more than you might expect. Thanks to the single open interior compartment, it's also very easy to access all of your belongings so you won't have that any awkward struggles to find your phone or purse. The design strikes a nice balance between functionality and elegance, and it's one of the few large clutch bags that I find very feminine.

I think that YSL's Belle de Jour is a really elegant designer clutch bag, and that the style is pretty timeless. I would definitely like to add one of these bags to my designer handbag collection! I've heard some good things about the patent leather versions, which apparently have a great water-resistant finish making them really suitable for use as a "party" bag.

What do you think of YSL's Belle de Jour clutch?
Is it a bag that you would consider buying pre-loved?
