This is the Givenchy Pandora Bag in Mini (RRP £750), the smallest size (height 12cm, width 24cm, depth 11cm) available for this design. I discovered these beautiful photos over on Sarah's Flickr page - her blog is called Fashion Eggplant - and I completely fell in love with her designer bag.
Givenchy's Pandora has an asymetric design, with a single handle or strap, and it has a tendency to look quite casual, almost grunge-inspired, thanks the bag's slouchy design. This style is also made in three larger sizes; small (height 17cm, width 26cm, depth 15cm), medium (height 19cm, width 33cm, depth 15.5cm) and large (height 17.5cm, width 38cm, depth 26cm). Although the Pandora is available in a range of colours (which vary seasonally) it is most commonly available in black, and other dark neutral shades.
The first time I ever really wanted to own a Givenchy Pandora Bag was when I saw the mini size in this pale pink colour. There is something about the combination of the mini size in this delicate pastel colour that's really quite beautiful. I think that it makes the bag look very feminine and elegant, whilst still maintaining the style's inherently relaxed and "cool" vibe.
The Pandora is a very lightweight bag, especially when compared against Givenchy's other popular designs, like the Antigona or Nightingale. It is also made from goatskin, which is a very durable leather and highly suitable for an everyday bag. The Mini Pandora features one detachable and adjustable strap, which means that the bag can be worn on the shoulder or across the body. The larger sizes in this design also feature an extra single handle, which allows you to carry the bag on the crook of your arm or in your hand.
The design of the bag is quite simple; it features two large zipped compartments, and one small zipped inner pocket to store valuables. The interior compartments enjoy a textile lining, which is usually a light neutral colour. It is, overall, a relatively uncomplicated design with some very practical elements that make it suitable for regular everyday wear. I wouldn't usually describe this bag as formal or smart, but, as the Mini Pandora in pastel pink demonstrates, I really do think that it depends on your choice of size and colour.
What do you think of the Givenchy Pandora?
And do you like it in this mini size?
