This beautiful pre loved Anya Hindmarch bag is made from strips of ponyhair that are sewn together to create a really pretty fan-effect on both sides of the bag. It is an unusual piece that I haven't seen on the pre-loved market before, but the detail and craftmanship really caught my eye. Sometimes with designer handbags you end up paying quite a lot for the brand name, but with this bag I think that you can clearly see the very careful design and excellent workmanship behind this creation.
As you can see from my photo above, the pony hair that makes up this bag display subtle variation in colour; some of the bag is lighter, and some darker, although it is hardly noticeable in anything except in direct sunlight. In my photo below, which was taken in a shadier spot, you will see that this colour effect is not always apparent.
If you like minimal branding then this is also a great design for you. Obviously there is branding inside the bag, but on the exterior there is only some very subtle 'Anya Hindmarch' signatures on the silver hardware found on the straps. On newer Anya Hindmarch bags there is usually bow detailing (printed onto tiny pieces of metal) on the tassels, but on the brand's earlier handbags you won't find this feature.
Despite being understated, this bag really oozes quality. It's beautifully made and is still in pristine condition. Something about the shape of the bag, coupled with the skinny straps, gives this piece a really feminine feel, and although colour might seem better suited to autumn/winter colour palettes, this shade of khaki would also look great with denim, white shirts and floaty summer dresses.
